Paranormal Activity 2 trailer Clip: Ordinary is Scary. Is this a spoiler? Kidding

Well, new ish, as there are about a hundred different clips of Paranormal Activity 2 on the internet at the moment. This does look interesting though; not least costume wise. In a very ordinary way. Despite this clip being only seven seconds long it does shed potentially enormous light on the new story. It is also a bit spoilery if you have not seen the first film, so bear that in mind before you watch:
Put simply the ‘found footage’ has to look real. Lots of simple, easy care clothes, reused and treated in an everyday way, i.e. not constantly cleaned and pressed. The film, shot with a largely unknown cast, had a lengthy production period for such a deceptively simple appearance on screen. Of course that is the whole idea; to seem as natural and unstructured as possible. Paranormal Activity 2 (directed by Tod Williams) is released in the UK and U.S. on 22nd October. OVERVIEW After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like
a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed
by a presence that may or may not be demonic but is certainly most active in the
middle of the night. “One of the things I wanted to do was create something that people could
say defined horror for their generation,” concludes Peli, “the way after
‘Psycho’ people said they would never take another shower; after ‘Jaws’
and ‘Open Water’ that they would never again swim in the ocean; and after
’Blair Witch’ that they would never again go camping in the woods. I
figured, well, sleeping at home is something you can’t really avoid. So if I
can make people scared of being at home, ‘Paranormal Activity’ might do
something.”

This is THE horror flick I have been waiting for all year! The
first one was the SCARIEST movie I had seen in a LONG time! I saw it in the
theaters, and the combined horror of the audience really added to the
atsmosphere and overall experience! I will definately see this one in theatres
as well! 5 stars for the anticipation, obviously not for the actual movie. lol. |
