Obviously pleased with themselves after the runaway success of the Lego Star Wars franchise, Traveller's Tales has decided to celebrate by buying up Embryonic Studios.
Embryonic is a name that has been around for quite some time now, though they've alternatively been known as Warthog and Digital Anvil over the years. Probably the best known game would be the old-school spacefarin' classics Wing Commander: Privateer and its lesser-know sequel, Freelancer.
Recently it seems they've been doing mostly franchise work -- Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone, Star Trek: Invasion and Battlestar Galactica.
"We are delighted to have completed the acquisition," said Traveller's Tales boss Jon Burton in the announcement release. "Embryonic possess a very talented workforce that will help drive Traveller's Tales on to further success."
